The MA level design and media course is adapting design thinking as a development process applicable to diverse purposes. Design thinking uses development methods that especially include quick prototyping practices, user driven and stakeholder collaboration based participatory development. These methods are applied both in activity and business model development and in brand creation. As specific design thinking application areas the studies cover service, city, information and sustainable design.

The graduates from this MA course can apply design thinking in managing business and other organizational development processes and in strategic planning. They can also direct their basic design and media skills for such wider or diverse contexts as developing brands, service design, city design, developing public sector and wellbeing or for information and sustainable design.
